"The one beauty secret I would take with me to a desert island".

In the article on 3 Natural African Beauty Secrets to Lasting Youth , I shared with you the one item I would like to have with me on a desert island: shea butter.
There’s no denying that shea butter has great attributes such as helping maintain a healthy, youthful and hydrated skin. But I have to admit that the routine involving the application of raw shea butter on one's body can resemble a full body workout, especially in cold weather.
I’m all for working out to stay healthy, but when I finish taking a shower and am looking forward to relaxing after a long day, the last thing I need is a skincare regimen that resembles a modern dance routine.
I’ve tried to resort to the shea butter “creams” available on the market, only to realise there was probably as much shea butter in it as there are seeds in an orange.
Even when the “natural” label is posted all over the container, the ingredient list leaves the average joe (who decides to read it) wondering what foreign language those ingredients are written in.
Trying to put on shea butter during an almost polar winter was the last straw for me; there had to be a way to have a natural shea body butter that does not require a step that resembles an attempt to melt a piece of rock between my hands.
After much trying and testing, I’ve found my way around this rock-hard hockey-puck-like winter shea butter.
So here it is: my all natural beauty secret and the only body butter you’ll ever need (IMHO).

This smooth creamy whipped shea butter also does very well in hot weather so it’s pretty much a season-proof solution to skincare.
The butter feels like a light oil as you apply it and is absorbed within minutes, leaving your skin feeling and looking healthy and hydrated.
To recap, here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups of raw shea butter
1 cup of virgin coconut oil
10-12 drops of your favorite essential oil(s) - I used lavender for it’s soothing and calming properties, palmarosa for its antibacterial and anti-aging properties and both for their aroma.
PS: If you’d like to put your hands on a mini casserole packed with this decadent body butter, drop us a message and we’ll hook you up (Canada only for now).
